Pflügers Archiv is the oldest still active Journal in the field of Physiology

In 1868 Eduard Pflüger founded the journal „Archiv für die gesammte Physiologie des Menschen und der Thiere“. In 1968 the journal was renamed into „Pflügers Archiv – European Journal of Physiology“. In the last >150 years several leading articles in the field of Physiology were published in Pflügers Archiv.

 

Pflügers Archiv appears once per month. In addition to regular issues, two to three times per year focused Special Issues are published. See the aims and scope. See the Editorial Board.

Pflügers Archiv is published by Springer Nature, one of the leading publishers worldwide. Corresponding authors from Germany, Austria and Switzerland (and many more countries) publish Open Access in Pflügers Archiv with fees covered if their institution is part of the German project DEAL or other country agreements.
